A father of two young boys, Timm Holmes has been inspired by the stories he improvises at bedtime for his sons. The stories main characters are the boys themselves. The fantastical and adventurous tales are collectively known as The Mostly Made-Up Adventures of Malcolm & Cooper. The first two books in the series Peanut Butter & Dragon and Splash, Fin, Toothy Grin! are available now on Amazon and at select Ottawa-area Chapters/Indigo locations. They can also be borrowed from the Ottawa Public Library.

He is the creator and facilitator of the START A STORY Young Writers Workshop. The program has Timm acting as a guide for groups of children from Kindergarten to Grade 5 who will collectively create a story of their own design. Timm visits class rooms, libraries, community groups and even birthday parties to excite the heart, inspire the mind, and celebrate the creativity! The pilot episode for Start A Story the children’s television show is currently airing on Rogers Television Ottawa Cable 22.

Timm Holmes is also working on a young adult fiction series titled Addison Dark. A fantasy story about a young boy that discovers an ability that takes him to places much further from home than he ever thought possible. He’ll find a family he never knew he had, but be placed directly in the path of a great threat not seen for over 2000 years. Read the short story that started it all on!
